I have been busy and preoccupied.
I’m trying to set up a studio by the sea.
I found a small flat with space for my workbench and space for AP and me to hang out when he has down time. Soon I can move out of my shed and Pickles will not have to stare at me from the back door because she can actually sit on a chair next to me while I work. There’s even space for Peri to perch on the window if she wants. As always, it’s up to her. (I cleaned out her ears this morning and she was none too happy about that so she’s not talking to me now.)
But I’m getting ahead of myself.
First there is the financial transaction that must take place before I can move into this new space. There are also utilities and other amenities that must be switched and initiated and what-have-you. Oh it never goes smoothly.
When I am in such a place, I remind myself to put one foot in front of the other. Then the other. Then the other. Somehow it all gets done, whether I stress about it or not.
Things have a way of working out.
We’re looking forward to the photos. I’m planning a big move next year, back to Chicago and I feel overwhelmed. I know I did the reverse move 26 years ago, so why is it so hard now?
What?! Well — that’s exciting. But yes…a little daunting.
By the sea, by the sea, by the beautiful sea — you and Pickles, you and Andy — oh how happy you’ll be! There’s something about looking out on water (in our case it’s just a pond) that reduces stress and does a heart good. Good luck!!
I know what you mean about the water. I have friends who live on a lake and there’s nothing more relaxing than having a cup of coffee and watching the water lap up on the shore.
Redrokit thinks Dragonlane is brilliant.
Best of luck to you! The artwork is gorgeous.
