Paris And …

We went to Paris a few weeks ago to meet up with my sister and her family, who were travelling together through France.

Here we are, sitting in the sun in a Paris cafe, blabbing away.  We didn’t have much time together so we had to talk fast.  The coffee helped.

I really love France.  Have I ever mentioned that?  We had a wonderful time catching up with the family and sharing the extraordinary beauty of Paris together.  My sister gifted us tickets to the Moulin Rouge!  We all strolled the streets and had a long lunch in a small restaurant, and then lunch turned into another stroll and dinner and then it was late and time to say goodbye.   I’m sorry that we live so far apart but always, always grateful for the time we get to spend together.

We’ve stumbled into November and daylight savings time.  Now it’s dark very early and it’s cold and the skies are cloudy.  Today we languished and so we bundled up the dogs and went to a local nature reserve…

And that’s what the beginning of November looks like from here.

Thinking of my American friends and family as the election closes in and I want a leftward and humanitarian push-back to this racist, xenophobic and corporatist cabal that is now in power.

The end.

  1. So glad you got to see your sister. The pictures are beautiful! We will be in NYC this week but made sure to march over to our township hall to hand deliver our absentee ballots. We will be anxiously awaiting the election results on Tuesday night…….

      1. It was a great trip. Heard the following on a podcast while driving into the city, “How does Paul Bunyan’s ox say hello? With a Blue Wave…..” Thought you’d appreciate the Up North humor…..

  2. Years ago my sis-in-law started a new job and couldn’t take a vacation until late in the year. When they told customs at Heathrow that they were visiting as tourists the agent said “You do realize it is November, don’t you?”
Love the nature pics — is that a great blue heron in the pond?

    1. Yeah… November in England can be pretty grim. But you will get good deals on airfare and hotels! Also — YES… that’s a blue heron! We watched it for quite some time.
