And Then a Tiny Holiday

We had planned and paid for a holiday since before the election was called.  We spent the last few days of the campaign in Cornwall, where we stayed in a lovely little cottage and explored the villages along the coast.

The weather mostly cooperated but when it was uncooperative, it gave us a good slap around the face and showed us who’s boss at the south coast.

Like so many parts of the U.K., Cornwall is gorgeous and well worth a visit.  While driving along the coastal towns I resisted the urge to sing songs from The Pirates of Penzance — or maybe AP told me to shut up.  I can’t remember.

As always, it was good to get away but it’s also good to be home again where the cat sits on her perch and watches us, and the dogs sleep on the sofa, and the French Open is on the telly.
