I spent a day at St Mary’s Catholic Church, volunteering for the Flint water crisis outreach program.
I’m really not used to these freezing temperatures and I wasn’t sure what to expect on my first day there but when I showed up wearing inappropriate boots and no hat, the people working on the distribution garage took one look at me and guided me into the office to help sort out some administrative work.
Friends, I’ve never enjoyed myself more doing office work. The kindness and community sprit runs high at St Mary’s and I want to give a big shout out to those working to serve Flint’s most vulnerable residents. Some of the people working on this effort have touched my heart greatly.
Volunteer work is so much more satisfying than simply working at a job.
