The Third Thursday in November

Oh Phooey. I’m here at the studio, working while my American friends and family are celebrating Thanksgiving together.

Poor old me.

My little biz is getting into the Christmas spirit and orders are coming in.

I sit at the workbench and carefully (CAREFULLY) cut into metal or solder (I love playing with fire).   I listen to my playlists… The Thermals, The Killers, Neko Case, Lucinda Williams… and I happily lose myself in the process.  I take deep breaths whenever I have something delicate or intricate to do because it can all go terribly wrong, especially with a flaming torch in your hands.

When it all goes terribly right I exhale and smile.

How lucky am I to be able to do something I love every day?

Lucky old me.

P.S. Happy Thanksgiving to those celebrating.  Have a piece of pie for me.

  1. Incredibly lucky my dear friend and even luckier to recognise it and to thank your blessings :o) Happy Thanksgiving to you and if you get the chance, can you say Happy Thanksgiving to Christie and Bill and the family please? xx

  2. Happy, happy Thanksgiving, Kimi. Thinking of you and treasuring our friendship on this day of remembering what we’re grateful for.

  3. I am gratefilled for so much and will gladly eat pie (and ice cream) for you, one of the people I’m most thankful for having in my life.
