Let me introduce myself: I’m Peanut. I’m a French Bulldog and I live at Lindy Lake with my Food Lady and Mary — oh — and him:
That’s Chewy. He’s an English Bulldog. I guess I don’t need to tell you about that long, complicated relationship between the French and the English but I live with it every day. Do you see that thing at Chewy’s feet? Well, he always wants someone to kick it around for him so that he can jump on it. I personally don’t understand it but that’s the English for you. C’est la vie.
I’ve not had a very good summer because my Food Lady hasn’t been herself and she was gone for quite some time which was very weird. And she came back which made me deliriously happy and so I am very careful not to lose sight of her. And I just want to say one thing: I am especially protective of our bed because I thoroughly enjoy a long nap with the Food Lady and if someone comes in the bedroom I will bark my head off. And whatever you do… DO NOT sit on the bed. Do not. It drives me crazy. Unless you have a treat. Chewy and I are especially grateful for all the help that you have given the Food Lady. I can tell you right now that every time someone leaves a note of support or a kind word it makes the Food Lady’s eyes leak.
I’ve got to go back to bed now.
Love this post Rockyann.
Ah. so nice! Love it. You’re the best, Rockyann!
Nothing makes you feel better than the unflinching love of a dog.
I wouldn’t want to cause leaky eyes, but I do know that all the little whimsical posts that flick through the blogosphere are a kind of serotonin. And that exercises my smile muscles. 🙂 Go well, Peanut, and your Food Lady.
The Food Lady most greatly appreciates this post. So true, every word of it.
