Goodbye summer. There is a definite chill in the air. The sun sets earlier these days and the afternoon light is lower in the sky. The cows have left the pasture and the farmer in the back field has baled the hay.
I harvested ONE BEET from my garden. Hurrah.
Goodbye my lovely summer season. I’ll put the heavy duvet on my bed tonight and wash my sweaters tomorrow.
I’ll look forward, now, to winter soup and the wood burning stove and afternoons of sideways rain. Because even sideways rain has its beauty.*
*You can remind me that I said that when I start complaining sometime in November.
You can’t beet your gardening skills.
Nice beet Rockyann. My favorite part about fall is that I can put my pajamas on earlier without shame.
