Big Sky, Big Trees

We left the ocean drive on Sunday and made our way up to Sequoia National Park last night.  Today we will walk among the giant redwoods and visit “General Sherman”, one of the largest of the trees.  AP has asked that we climb Moro Rock — a huge monolith with 360 steps leading to the top, which promises magnificent views.  I’m very reluctant.  We had to climb  three sets of stairs last night leading to our lodge and we were totally winded in this thin mountain air.

  1. We went to California in 2008. Kings Canyon and Sequoia were my favorite parts of the trip, right after the awesome views along US 1. Enjoy!
