Beginning Autumn

Heron

Oh it seems like just a few weeks have passed since the signs of spring started to manifest themselves. This week there has been a distinct chill in the air every morning and a crisp wind in the afternoon when I take Pickles for a walk. The blackberries have dried up and the sun sets lower in the sky each week.

I happen to like this time of year, though. I like the change, the colours, the smell of wood burning whenever I go out in the evenings. I like the autumn foods, the warm drinks in the evening, and piling more blankets on the bed for a good sleep.

And so it is at the beginning of fall.
